The Renowned Musician Urges Public Help to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign seeks to provide aid to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Possibility for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It has a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Star-Studded Lineup

The single was laid down in the wake of a major charity concert held in late summer. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the performance was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The diverse array of performers contributing to Lullaby includes a group of acclaimed names from the scene. All participated in the September show, which managed to collect a considerable total for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of music creators. The single showcases a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the campaign have clarified that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These proceeds will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a representative said. “We will pursue as much as possible. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The situation in the area was characterized as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of infrastructure reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“In that context, a couple of million won't make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
