Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, however will the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away win this campaign came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's home record, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
